Things we decided on thursday
our forum name is curious and our campaign will start off asking "are you curious?" and end with "we are curious"
Our campaign will run over a length of time ( maybe a week? with one campaign idea happening each day, leading up the the launch of the website. Each day the website homepage/splashpage will relate to that days campaign in a curious way.
Our campaign will focus on show parts of work, odd information about our designers to get people wondering.
Our outcomes will be the following
1.webpage/splash page for each day of the campaign.
2.Pass it on letter
3. Stickers by tube stations
4. Cakes
5. Beer bottle labels, on beer at design conferences
6. Something to do with street lights, and blocking out parts of the light to read a message
7. Maybe posters?? not sure
One will be revealed each day, building up to website launch.
so this weekend i am going to test out some of the logo ideas and apply them to website or beer bottles, this will help us decide on the colour scheme and typography. So we can see which looks best, atm we are debating between heveltica nue and rockwell. and for colours we are thinking along with black and white for backgrounds, to have pink green and yellow i think it was?.. all quite bright.
To be honest i don't really mind what type or background colour we use, i don't think we are going to get marked on stuff like that, basically just go with what works and looks right, and i think thats hard to tell without doing testers.
I still feel like we are going to be very pushed for time, but i am hoping that by monday will will have some strong examples and we can then start to do some real pieces.
In terms of the "work" that we are going to be revealing in our campaign, we thought that we could just use our own work or any work we find on the internet. I just had an idea, we could design 4 of each idea. So there would be 4 very similar versions of the letter, 4 of the stickers, 4 of the cakes etc so that we each have pieces we have design for our portfolio and it would contain our own work making it more relevant. All the info on them would be the same, just maybe the birhgt colour is different and the "work" being revealed. But we basically stick to a strict layout out, size, colour scheme. So if one person for example was to design the gird for the letter and creates an example, and then passes that on ( practicing what we preach) to the rest of the group, then we can have a consistent and equal, yet slightly different set of outcomes! i don't see any reason why that shouldn't work and solve some issues.
